Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Centers in Michigan helps thousands of people every year to battle their substance abuse problems with centers now serving needs in several cities.
Sacred Heart came to be after a young man that had turned to alcohol, got sober and went into the priesthood. Unfortunately after 8 years he relapsed and was sent to Guest House, a recovery center for priest. He later found himself visiting a newly established Sacred Heart in Detroit.
There were forty men living in a rundown old school building but their spirits inspired him and from that the Sacred Heart Rehabilitation was born.
On this Substance Abuse 411, we talk with President/CEO Grady Wilkinson about the start of the organization, where it is today and the substance abuse work it is doing in many communities.
